Another outstanding lunch at Mr C's today!!! My friend had Shrimp and Grits and said it was very good, too!! I love this place and hope they continue to do well!!
Update: lunch here today! Erington is my favorite waitress, although all of the staff is excellent!! Chicken is fresh, crispy yet moist and juicy!! -

Came to check out what the fuss was on this spot.
It was good. Not amazing, just pretty good. Great portions, good service. Clean environment.
We all Had fried chicken, waffles, country Fried steak. Greens, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese.
Sweet tea and soft drinks. It was alright. But nothing we would HAVE to have again. It looks like their breakfast might be kind of tasty, we may come back to try that out.
Cute spot with pretty good food. -

Greetings!
I had the privilege of dining at MR. C's for a late lunch and I was blown away!
The food was ABOVE average and much better than I anticipated.
I was questioning the moderate ratings but was surprised with the excellent service but the main winner was the food.
After diving into the free, tasty and sweet cornbread, I had Big C's breakfast which included 2 waffles, 2 pieces of fried Chicken, 2 eggs, and toast.
Another one of those cases where my eyes were hungrier than my stomach.... the portions were more than plentiful.
The chicken was my favorite.... something about the seasoning used in the batter?? Very tasty and moist.
The waffles were a decent size and about what I would expect for waffles(sorry I'm not a huge waffle or pancake person).
The takeaway for me was the fried chicken flavor.
Not to be too much of a food snob but I was so satisfied by the chicken that I actually took home my leftovers!
Give this place a try, it's got my high recommendations and I'll be back for some more fried chicken and tasty corn bread!
Enjoy! -

I love fried chicken and food chains aside, this is the BEST I've had in San Antonio.
Let's start with the ambiance. The place is clean and nice and different types of seating. The staff is friendly as well.
They bring out a basket with cornbread while you wait and it's the best I've ever had and I don't like cornbread. Their chicken skins sound gross at first but they remind me of fried pork rinds. Absolutely delicious. The kool aid is perfect too, in both fruit punch and grape, served in large mason jars and free refills. I've had the pork chops and the fried chicken and both plates were great. The Mac and cheese is just good but the fried okra is what really made me happy. I'll continue to come here for my chicken fix. -

This was a great experience overall. The service was attentive and prompt. The restaurant manager came out to greet us personally. The food was fresh and came out pretty quickly. We had the chicken fried steak, honey hot wings, Mac and cheese, fried pickles, fried green beans, and Mashed potatoes with Gravy. Everything was delicious and made with care. This was a big improvement on my previous visits. I was impressed. I will certainly return. Good job.
